in the 1/3 stretch

I'm a third of the way done my 30 days of outfit posts with the same thirty items. It is starting to make me hate some of my clothes. Others, I love.

I went to the house I grew up in today. It was the biggest disappointment I've had in a while. The entire place is overgrown and ratty. Here used to be my playhouse.

This used to be the concrete block my Dad put down, where he let us mash our hands into it, and the end result was beautiful. My dad's, my brother's and my hand were all next to each other on the bottom of the patio. It's either worn by time or they removed it. The people living there refused to let us take it when we moved. We even offered to replace it for them for nothing. We wanted it because my Dad passed away ten+ years ago. Now I can't even get a picture of it.

I have a surprise for you guys. Music post tomorrow. I'm excited. Singing Someone Like You--it won the poll :)

See you then!

fishy fishy in the brook

Today was spent having lunch with/taking outfit pictures for Kelly . Afterward, Wonderful Jeff and I took the baby to the beach. It was the cutest thing ever. She loves catching the tiny fishies in her bucket and letting them go. Here's what Mommies like me wear to the beach, if you're interested :)

orange and red

My day was great. My wonderful man does so much for me and makes me feel so special every day that we spend together. He gives me space to do the things that I love and supports my ambitions. He takes care of my daughter just as well as I do, maybe better if I ever dared to say that--but I never would, haha! No one beats a Mommy's touch, baby. Although... there have been a few wild ones. Let's not talk about the hot sauce Mom. Don't get me started.

Back to Jeff. He is just lovely.

You know what else is lovely? Being mentioned in Krystal's post from This Time Tomorrow. I won a give-a-way and got myself a lovely post. It made me so happy. I don't know what I was more excited about: being mentioned in her post, or actually winning something. Definitely being mentioned. Eee! I see people wearing pink and red together all the time lately, so I decided to wear orange and red. Kind of the same, but leaning on a different hue. I tried something different with my hair--two french braids instead of one.

Sparkles Of Hope bracelet (who do you wear yours for?)

I wear the Sparkles of Hope bracelet for my Nan who died of cancer. My Mom wears one for her too. She was an amazing woman who overcame a lot of trials and tribulations in her lifetime. She inspired so many people and I am blessed to wear this to remember her. These bracelets are really popular here in Newfoundland. All proceeds go towards the Dr. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Each bead represents a different type of cancer. Great cause in exchange for a constant reminder to cherish your life, make the most of your day and to smile because we knew these wonderful people that touched our lives so dearly. I think they are beautiful.

(Obviously no one sponsored me to write this. I just think they are a wonderful purchase towards a gracious cause. And makes a good contribution for an arm party...)

On with my 30 for 30 folks. This was the outfit of the day. A little metal edge to my floral dress (worn as a skirt) and a comfy basic scoop back tank. Embarrassingly enough, everything worn here is from Forever 21... sans bandeau (Urban Planet). I clearly need to shop somewhere else. Or at least, pick a variety of things next time I choose 30 items. I am really excited for Fall's remix. I can't wait to do the challenge with other bloggers. Though I know I have some really great followers now to my journey, I think it will be encouraging doing it at the same time with other bloggers. Motivating. Challenging. I loved wearing this maxi dress as a skirt, something I would never normally think of doing before blog reading and becoming totally inspired to try new things. Oh, and the countdown to my shopping trip is on... less than two months... I am ready to jump over the moon I am that excited.

Today if you were following me on Twitter you would have read that I spent the day with Jeff's family, seeing Mel off. It's her last day on the rock and tomorrow she will be heading back to school. We won't see her any more until April. That's a hell of a long time to be away from family. I come from a big warm loving family and I find it hard to imagine being away from them. I feel so blessed and lucky. I really loved spending time with Jeff's family, and having them cook for us (always a bonus)... We had fresh lobster. And spanish rice. And sushi. All delicious. Afterwards, I spent a lovely evening drinking wine and eating nachos with my dear friend Hilary who is home from Ottawa. Lots of calories today ;) More of me to love. I am not going to erase saying that, but I don't count calories and I never will and I am totally okay with treating myself once in a while, especially while living a healthy lifestyle. It's okay with me to enjoy the simple joys of life... like a huge plate of nachos. They are my weakness!

Once again, thank you everyone for the comments! It's so late tonight that I can't possibly start responding to comments, but that is on the to do list tomorrow, along with taking some more pictures. I'm really excited for Monday. I have a shoot (with the amazingly talented couple Alyssa and Alan)! *excited* I'm really nervous. (I'm starting to become attached to my tripod.)
